Dr. Becky Newman

Dr. Becky Newman (nee Mitchell) was raised on a cattle farm just south of Kitscoty. After 2 years of undergraduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Newman was accepted into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.  In 2000, she graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Great Distinction.

Dr. Newman worked in Fort Macleod and Ponoka before spending 1.5 years abroad, working as a veterinarian in New Zealand.  Dr. Newman returned home to join the Lloydminster Animal Hospital in 2005. While still a mixed animal veterinarian, Dr. Newman spends more time focusing on small animal medicine and particularly enjoys challenging internal medicine cases, educating clients and developing relationships with them and their fur families.

Dr. Newman is married to Dustin Newman, who hails from Hillmond.  They have 2 children, Nora and Owen, a sweet Border Collie cross named Echo, their kitty, Sage, a small flock of purebred Hampshire sheep and flock of laying hens.  Dr. Newman enjoys gardening, camping and hiking in the summer, and curling, cross country and downhill skiing in the winter.  Not to mention following her kids around to hockey games, ball games, dance festivals and 4-H activities.  She loves supporting the communities she grew up and works in by volunteering with local groups, such as the Lloydminster Exhibition, Border Paws and Kitscoty Community Hall.
